Why we're backing Climate Action Week
From 9–15 March 2026, Climate Action Week Sydney will bring together people working across climate, finance, culture and community – all focused on one thing: accelerating action on the climate crisis.
We’re proud to be returning as a major sponsor once again. When it comes to climate action, moments like this create space for ideas to collide, for momentum to build, and for capital to start flowing where it’s needed most.
Climate action isn’t just about knowing the science. It’s about turning that knowledge into change at speed and at scale.
Climate Action Week Sydney exists to do exactly that. This year’s theme is ‘Change Happens Locally’, underlining the impact of collaborative action. Across the week, events spotlight solutions, bring together decision-makers and challenge the systems that shape our future. It’s about moving from conversation to coordination, and from intention to impact.
Why we’re partnering with CAW
At Future Super, we believe money is one of the most powerful tools we have to tackle climate change.
“Climate action isn't a distant ideal, it's the work we choose to do today, and the future we can build together.," says Sharon Davis, executive director of investments at Future Group*. "The money in the superannuation system tends to buy assets that impact how we live.”
Superannuation helps decide what gets built, which industries grow, and what kind of future we’re investing in. That’s why Future Super helps you invest for a fossil fuel-free future. Where capital flows, change follows.
Sponsoring Climate Action Week is a natural extension of that belief. It’s about backing the people and ideas pushing for a future worth retiring into and using our voice to help shift the system.
Lights, climate, action!
Hey, if you’re in Sydney that week, we’d love to see you there. Look out for our interactive display at UTS and come and chat to us about climate, super and maybe get a free tote bag!
This year, under the event theme of ‘Change Happens Locally’, we’re bringing a cinema-inspired activation to Climate Action Week – using storytelling, imagination and participation to explore one big question: How can we unlock the capital we need to take climate action together?
It’s part installation, part conversation starter – and a reminder that the story of climate action is still being written, and we have the power to write the ending.
As part of the week, we’re planning a special event, a screening of Future Council on 12 March 2026 at the Palace Cinema (next to the venue), including live music performance and Q&A bringing together ideas, culture and dialogue in one shared space.
The film explores one of the biggest questions of our time: how do we unlock capital to accelerate climate solutions and power the energy transition? Book your ticket here. T&Cs apply.
Along with screening an original film at the event, we’re shooting one, too! You’re invited to drop by our cinema stand to become part of the project.
Capital is climate action
The solutions to the climate crisis already exist. What’s often missing is funding at the scale required to deploy them.
Australia’s super system represents trillions of dollars in collective power. When that capital is aligned with climate solutions, it can help reshape the economy – away from harm and towards a more sustainable, equitable future.
That’s why we show up at events like Climate Action Week. Because changing the story on climate means changing how money moves, and who it serves.
We’re excited to be part of Climate Action Week Sydney 2026, and to keep pushing for a future where our money works as hard for the planet as it does for our retirement.
