How did Future Super determine which new investment option members would be transferred into?

We mapped members from closed options to new options based on two key factors: target returns and risk profile (measured by the growth/defensive asset allocation split).

Generally speaking:

  • Higher growth allocation = higher risk appetite, often suitable for younger members with longer investment timeframes
  • Higher defensive allocation = lower risk appetite, often suitable for members closer to retirement

The table below shows how we matched closed options to new options based on these factors.

Important: This is a general approach to risk assessment. Your personal circumstances matter most. If you're unsure whether your new option suits you, we recommend seeking professional financial advice.
